This is a very cool group you have going here. I find it quite interesting how computers behave at times. Sometimes you wonder if they have a mind of their own or not. These posts are quite interesting and educational for me ? I?ve learned a bit about the errors that can occur. Scan your computer for ErrorsFor Free!http:// errors.www-marketingpros.com

Hello all... I don't ever want to clean up any of my desktop icons. Even if I don't use them often, I had a reason in mind when I put them there. Is there any way to tell the Windows XP desktop cleanup wizard that I never ever want to see it again? William

Strange ad blocking
by Guest MAL- 6 replies

Suddenly now when I go into legitimate web sites with ads, like Washington Post, Huff Post etc, some of the ads struggle to load and then I get the "I Page cannot be displayed" screen in the space where the ad should be. The content part of the page does load but very slowly. It can take minutes. During that time it appears to be trying to access a doubleclick.net url. This is making it impossible to enjoy these sites. I have disabled pop-up blocker, done two different types of adware scans and there is nothing unusual showing in hijackthis. I never thought I would say this but how do I get the ads back so the pages will load fast again.

Re: Safe Mode Reboot

Re: Safe Mode Reboot Thanks for the response. The event viewer doesn't give me anything I can see. Sometime I use the safe mode for removing software and an occasional bad file. I don't use safe mode that often but just wanted to see if there was something causing this that, I may have missed. Again thanks for the responses. Map drive for USB memory stick
by Guest mike0898- 2 replies

Hi, This should be easy, but I can't find the solution in help, on this site. I'm trying assign a drive letter for a portable memory stick. When I plug the stick into my home computer, it does this automatically. At work, almost all of drives are already mapped, so it seems like I will need to this manually. How do I do that? I know the machine recoginzes my memory stick, I just can seem to access it. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated by this not-so-expert user!

Internet Explorer Misbehaving

When I launch IE, from my desktop icon, to reach my home page(msn.com), I get the message" Internet Explorer cannot display this page". If I then perform several refreshes, I can reach my home page OK. However, a single click to eBay, PayPal , Amazon or Outlook Express from the desktop works immediately. I am running XP Pro in a home network, via a DSL modem and a Netgear router. The other computer in the network behaves identically. Both machines appear to function normally otherwise. Also, each machine is running AVG 7, Ad-Aware 2007, Spybot S&D and Spware Blaster and reveal no problems. What is causing this? How can I fix this problem? Thanks f…

Another Desktop Cube for Windows XP/Vista

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/another-desktop-cube-for-windows-xpvista/ The Desktop Cube effect for Linux is extremely popular because people love eye candy, but the choices for Windows are much less interesting. The latest utility to give this effect for Windows is surprisingly fast, and works on both XP and Vista. Of course, Keyboard Ninjas prefer keyboard shortcuts to snazzy desktops, but that's not the point is it? Here's the screen in action, which is surprisingly fast on my Vista laptop. .........see the rest on the link I provided........
