Clock is 1 hour early in the morning and correct in the afternoon!

Hi, I'm on an office network. My machine is running XP Pro. This problem does not affect any other machine on the network (all are running one or other XP). When I get to work and switch on my machine the clock is exactly one hour early (i.e. it says 8am when it's 9am). By around lunchtime (I'm not sure exactly when) the clock displays the correct time. Daylight saving autoadjust is unchecked. I've never heard of anything like this and nor have the guys from our IT company! Any ideas? Paul

Hi there people, I recently bought a VGA splitter for my computer, I am trying to set up dual monitors: one to a standard LCD monitor and another to a LCD projector. I manage to get it working but win xp doesn't seem to pick it up as dual monitors instead it mirrors what I have on the LCD monitor. Any idea how to force a detection so that win xp actually picks it up as 2 independent monitors? TQ

by Guest Kurt- 1 reply

I have Win XP Pro SP2. I am trying to use Briefcase to synchronize a large group of files on a networked computer to my laptop. I created a "briefcase" on my laptop, and copied all of the folders contained in the primary folder I am synchronizing. The files I need are at \\server\c\progfolder\data\files. In that folder, I have lots of subfolders. When I set up the briefcase, I put it at a location on my laptop that corresponds to the network structure, at c:\progfolder\data_remote\files. This "files" is my briefcase. I copied all of the subfolders from \\server\...\files to c:\...\files. Now, when I Update All, it synchronizes the contents of th…

Hi All, Forgive me for asking a Windows 2003 server (SP2) question on this site, but I think you guys may know the answer. In Control Panel, Automatic Updates, I have a blue link called "Windows Update Web Site". If I click on it, nothing happens. Anyone know how to fix this? Many thanks, -T Other symptoms that may or may not have anything to do with this: 1) If I manually do to "http://www.update.microsoft.com/ microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us" and press "Express", it runs and runs and runs. Never stops (let run 20 hours as a test) 2) The yellow shield in my task bar for installing updates always takes me through the insta…

My hard drive failed on my laptop this morning and it wouldn't boot. I tried to put it into an external enclosure but it wouldn't show up on the MY Computer folder. I tried another hard drive and it showed up so the connection and the enclosure are working properly. Is there any other way I can get my hard drive to show up as a drive on My Computer or is the hard drive fried?
