What is sounds like is that you want to perform a series of mouse or keyboard operations on objects in the web page. You didn't mention if cost were no object or was critically restricted. WinRunner will do that but is probably way too pricey for you as it is designed to software test automation. AutoHotkeys might …

WWW site not available

My computer doesn't show a certain www site: with IE it keeps loading without end, with Firefox it gives something like (not precisely, sorry): " Wrong redirection. Firefox detected that server redirects the request in the way that makes the completion impossible..." I checked everything about cookies, disabled the Antivirus - no result... The same site with the same internet cable works perfect with another computer. Have you any idea?... Thank you.

After XP repair, can no longer do Windows update
by Guest monica- 3 replies
I have a couple Dell pcs where I did an XP repair. Once it completed, the glitchy problems we had were fixed, so we are happy. However, if we attempt any Windows updates, they download, but all fail. No error message, just says updates didn't install. This also happens whenever we upgrade a pc with Windows 2000 to Windows XP. I've done every Google search imaginable but all recommended solutions don't pertain to our exact situations. So upgrading, reinstalling, or repairing XP seems to disable the actual install of updates. Any help is much appreciated.

Repair Installing with Different Install Disc
by Guest Ted Smith- 0 replies

I bought my copy of XP Pro OEM before SP1 and SP2. As they came along I installed them on top of my old version. Now I have a few programs (one is OE 6) that have been corrupted but still work after a fashion. I would like to do a repair install but my install disc tells me that it can't do it because my Win XP has been modified or upgraded or something like that. But, I have a brand new unopened copy of XP-SP2 OEM that I plan to use to build another system. Can I use that copy to repair the programs on my current system?? If that is possible, would the repair do anything goofy like implant its ID or serial number on top of my current install. Would …

Wireless versus Wired Mouse
by Guest Navyguy- 13 replies

I use to have a wired Microsoft mouse but when it became worn I decided to upgrade to a Logitech laser wireless Mouse. At first it was fine but in recent months it has performed erratically. I have tried changing the settings, restoring it to the default settings and recently updated the drivers but it still acts the same and isn't as smooth as it use to be or as smooth as my wired mouse was. So I'm just wondering is this an inherent problem with wireless mouse's (mice) and would I be better off going back to using a Microsoft wired mouse ? Thanks, Robert

Procedure for Recovering Missing SYSTEM32 Folder
by Guest Will- 4 replies
I posted over many different threads a problem I had on a Windows system where the SYSTEM32 folders suddenly disappeared, taking out the registry with them. I recovered from this situation today as follows. I am including this in a server thread because the recovery procedure would be essentially the same (except for the lack of system restore points with Windows 2003), and I am documenting for posterity. 1) I restored an old backup of the file system to a portable drive. 2) I restore an old backup of the system state to the same drive. 3) I booted the down system with ERD Commander and the portable drive attached. 4) I copied over first the missing …
