Here's one for you. When you put in a data CD or DVD, the system looks at the disc and normally gives you a list of options so that you can choose what you want the computer to do. Some dork checked the box that says "always do this option". How do I UNDO this so that computer will continue to ask me what I want it to do? You would think it would be easy to locate a contol for this ....but I'm tearing my hair out looking! Any suggestions?

I just did a reinstall of XP and for some reason the bubbles that originate in the system tray no longer appear. I can hear them, but can't see them. Any suggestions on how to cure this?

Hi, I'm trying to use my XP laptop to format a drive with FAT32 so it will be compatible with an Intel Mac. But when I right-click the drive and choose 'Format', NTFS is the only choice there, like a default. Is there something I'm missing? How can I get it to format with FAT32? We have Windows Small Business Server that has Remote Desktop enabled. Up until today we were able to have 2 people connection via RDP + 1 console user at the same time which is normal for a Windows 2003 server. This morning I wasnt able to connect at all. I uninstalled Terminal Server licensing from add/Remove Windows components, reboot and then was able to connect from outside of the office, but was unable to connect using RDP from a client computer on the internal network... which is wierd. Also I am unable to have 2 simutanous connection, I was able to connect from 3 different external sites to the server, but only one at a time. This is …

Is there a utility that will export for me a list of all the folders and files my client has chosen to "Make available offline"? When a new profile needs to be created from scratch, I must again make available these offline folder and files. What I have been doing is mapping the root of the offline folder, going offline and from a command prompt exporting a dir /s to a log file; very time consuming. Anyone have a more time efficient manner of doing this? Thanks, -- Ken

Hey I have 2 computers set together with a router between them. One of the computers is using XP Pro sp2 (firewall enabled) as operating system. the other computer is using Windows Server 2003 as operating system. From the machine with W2k3 I can ping the XP machine using the ip address of the XP machine. I cannot ping it using the name of the XP computer... From the XP computer I cannot ping the w2k3 machine using either name or ip addresss.. In the firewall settings on the XP machine I've enabled all the ICMP settings in Advanced tab... The Server (not a DC) is a member of domain Windows 2003 Active Directory.( After install it, the service Terminal Server Licensing don't start. With event viewer, i have this message error : Terminal Services licensing has been installed on a server that is not in a workgroup or on a server that is not a domain controller (DC) for the domain it is based in. To resolve the issue, install Terminal Services Licensing service on a DC. The DC does not necessarily need to be run the Terminal Services service, just the Terminal Servers Licensing service. My OS is down, has been corrupted, and is not recoverable, according to Dell tech support. They recommend a fresh install but my data is not backed up and I cannot lose it. i support several standard edition windows 2003 servers. While creating new users with roaming profiles and group policies, i have found i do not have access to the new users' roaming profile directory. So i have been logging into the server as the new user with mstsc, browsing to their roaming profile directory (while logged in as that user i do not get the "access denied" message), and granting the administrator's group full control permissions to it. Then i can view it and midify it while logged in as an administrator.
