Hi, Has anyone tried WinuxPC's Vista XP? It is a cosmetic XP app that gives XP the look of Vista. It includes Vista-like aero-glass and icons. It also includes a firewall and anti-virus. Hey there, we're having an issue with ntbackup. The program runs fine if we start the backup from the GUI. However, using the schedular or the commandline gives an error the device or medium is not found (freely translated from dutch 'Kan het aangewezen medium of back-upapparaat niet vinden. De back-upbewerking wordt afgebroken.'). I think it has to do with the issue with had with the tape drive (a compaq dat 20/40). This was probably a defect in the SCSI controller. You could some commands (like selftest from HP tape tools, or eject from removable storage) fine, however any command that would read or write to the tape would cause the device to freeze up and…

I'm looking into purchasing Windows 2003 Server R2 Retail version. I've seen plenty of sites selling the 5 or 20-pack User CALs OEM version for a bit less than the Retail version of the CALs. Is there any conflict with using OEM CALs on a Retail version of the server OS, or should this be fine? Thanks! --Jason

From time to time, we have some users loses profiles, and have to re-create or restore from the backup tape, especially it happens when multiple users log in one computer, or one user log in multiple computers. Hello, What right/permission do I need to give to remote users so that they can manage - change properties - of their OWN printers and ONLY their own? (see the tab 'security' in the printer properties, permissions manage printers) (server = windows 2000 terminal server sp4; clients xp pro) As a test, I gave the "manage printers" permission to remote users. This showed a remote user ALL printers, allowing them to print to another remote location. This is totally undesirable. Now, I bought the (hardware) server and the reseller sold me a copy of Enterprise OEM which only came with 64bit media and licence key. Hello, I have an issue where I can not search a specfic portion of a network drive. I can access the subdirectories and files within but if I perform a search the search fails to find folders or files that I know exist. I verified that knowelse has this issue. I have had someone else login to my machine with thier username/password and they also can not perform the search. Any thoughts? Thanks, Todd

When I used the bluescreen screensaver from http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/Miscellaneous/BlueScreen.mspx It wont show up even after the past the time the screensaver should show up. Is it because Windows XP show bluescreens extremely short or the screensaver take data from my pc on how it will show a bluescreen? note:restarting on system failure is enabled
