Applied SP2 to Windows 2003 standard server and am receiving mulitple Sidebyside event id: 59 errors with generate activation contest failed for: shell32.dll, wininet.dll, resolve partial assembly failed windows.common-controls with access denied. Server running Outlook Web Access.

Hi all, I saw in some systems the event log gets full with in hours and the system will shutdown/logoff, and prompt to logon as administrator and clear event logs. if you loged in as normal user the system will not allow you logon. How can one can stop log events to be full. Give me reply please. Basha

I keep getting these event IDs 6033 & 40968 on my 2003 server. They appear to occur at a specific time. I have not found any solution on the web for this. Does anyone know a fix? What is causing this? how do I identify the app that is trying to access the Local security? Please help. thanks

I was trying to set up a computer with remote desktop, and I realized I could not do this because it was running XP home edition. Is there a way to install the remote desktop application onto a computer running home?

A customer of mine was given a computer with w2k on it. However, she did not ask for the logon password. The computer sat for a couple of months before she plugged it in and the previous owner has since moved so she does not know how to get in touch with her.

Running XP Pro. I have two sets of digital photographs, taken with two different cameras. The clocks on the two cameras were not in sync. I would like to adjust the time stamps on one set so that they could be collated by time with the other set. Is there some simple way to do this? Cyril N. Alberga

I have read about attributes of Computer Associates DNA Migrator to move applications and data from old XP computer to a new computer. If anyone reading this has used it, please advise as to how the hookup is made from one computer to another. Is it by attaching the hard drive from the old computer to the new computer, either by installing or using usb port enclosure for the old hard drive? all replies welcomed! Aaron

A friend has just bought a new Dell PC and ordered it with XP and not Vista. When the PC arrived it was fitted with Vista so he phoned the help line who said they would supply CDs to install XP. They duly arrived but not being very OK with computers he phoned the help line for assistance in loading XP. The assistance was given by an Indian Gentleman who he could not understand both from a language and technical point of view so he gave up Is there a clear set of written instructions available that he could follow? I have a problem when I play any game on xp. I dont get this problem on vista because I tried the games in vista, then in xp. I have the common "Access is denied" error from attempting to install SP2. See, uninstalled it today after having problems of installing IE7 thinking that if I were to reinstall SP2, I'd have IE7 by default. Well, I've been at the computer for hours, trying to follow the tutorial that Microsoft has about this "Acess is denied" error and how to fix it, but it has gotten me nowhere. I don't know what else to do. Though, I think it has to do something with the registry. Can I delete something off the registry from the past time that I had installed SP2? Hi, Have Win2000 server with Exchange 5.5. Using Outlook2000 on client PC. In Outlook cannot open the Inbox - Unable to display the folder. All subfolders from the Inbox can be displayed OK as well as Calendar, Contacts etc. Please help, David Ewer

a general moan, so excuse the long rambling on here... but also in case anyone has a better way... Curses !!! here we go again... it's almost becoming an annual event!
