Re: Date and Time Properties Thanks! This worked for me. There are other very similar suggestions in other threads that look ALMOST like the script you suggested that don't work. Copying over XP Pro
by Guest JohnH- 6 replies

I was given a computer and it has XP Pro on it. The problem is that when I downloaded the validation tool it stated that the product key wasn't valid. I trust the person who gave it to me but I don't want the hassle. I restored my pc to an earlier point to remove the validation tool. My question is that I have my XP Home Edition w/ SP2 upgrade and I was wondering if I could just do a new install over the XP Pro? I know my product key is good my only worry is will it work. Anyone know if this is possible please let me know. Thanks

Liscencing for servers outside our domain
by Guest TonyZeigler- 6 replies

Current setup: Domain X that serves the main office for our small company. Domain Y which is a client's server we are setting up for them. While the client's server is at our site, we would like to allow them to remote into it, and use liscences from the liscencing server we have in domain X. Both servers are 2003. I would be ok setting up a trust between the domains only if I could lock them down. Looking for Suggestions :)

I wonder if anyone can help, for 4 weeks now, a second laptop running on XP home. Initial cause was a trojan, which with spybot has been removed. - It continued to hang. by using Task Manager, I was able to run internet explorer, and the files are still accessible. After some extensive research the answer appeared to be uploading all nessessary updates. Then running automatic updates, it updated over 51 updates, including sp2 and ie7. I now have to run the machine with MSCONFIG to get the thing to boot up to a point where I can do anything with it at all. When I try to get the desktop icons to load - by running explorer.exe, it attempts to do so seve…
