What's the best synchronization software?
by Guest kfman- 9 replies

What's the best synchronization software? Hi all, I have a working directory at work on my office PC. And I some times do work at home at my home PC. And I also keep a copy on my laptop. Due to company policies, I have to use USB drive to copy and paste from one computer to another. I keep adding/deleting/modifying files on these three computers and the directories are now a mess. I lost track about which PC keeps which version of my work and when the files get more and more the whole situation becomes a nightmare. Could anybody recommend a good and effective sync software to handle these things, esp. the sync through the USB drive? I assume the sof…

by Guest BadBug- 1 reply

Hi I currently have a terminal server licensing server issue. I have one server in my domain hosting the terminal server licensing service. This server is also a DC and runs 2003 R2. I currently have valid purchased licenses registered. All of it has been handed out and now I am handing out temp licenses for the 2003 products. I now have this issues where a machine got a temp license. The license has expired and in my management console it shows that the license expired on the 5 of June 2007. Now this machine cannot work, because the server is not handing out a new temp license to this client machine. I have restarted the server services. Rebuilt the c…

Open with... - How to get option back
by Guest Smirnoff- 6 replies

I plugged in an old USB scanner and up came the "Open with....." dialogue box. Without thinking I chose Photoshop AND "Always perform this action....." Then realised I might want to save to Word or Irfanview. Can't seem to find a way to "Undo" the Photoshop option. Tried right-clicking on the scanner icon in My Computer but am not seeing any "Opens with..." setting to change. How do I get XP to ask what programme to open with again?

Problem sending pictures from Windows Explorer
by Guest Roger Van Loon- 2 replies

I am using Win XP professional edition. I used to send pictures, and resize them, from Windows Explorer (selecting the pictures, File, Send To, Mail Recipient). I always then got the options to resize them (make files smaller), or not. Now, all of a sudden, this does not work anymore. Yes, I can still send them, but only in the original size. How come? TIA Roger.

Hi, My PC is getting really slow, showing a lot of errors, and stuff in spite of being treated with registry mechanic several times. I've erased the cache, cleaned viruses and spywares in safe mode, deleted the unwanted files from the PC. What do you think I should do? I think that I might have to reinstall XP. I have the CD with me...The problem is I don't know the exact algorithm to do it.... I've heard that it is kinda dangerous too if you mess up...Anyway, why do we always have to reinstall from the blue screen during boot up? Why can't we put the CD and press reinstall button in the autorun menu? As you can see, I'm pretty confused....Please tell me wha…

Outlook Express email problem (Windows 2000 professional)
by Guest Helpless in Ohio- 3 replies

I recently discovered (when I had no response to 2 job applications!) that when I click on an email address within a received email and send it - it doesn't register - the person it was sent to doesn't receive it and it does not appear in my sent folder. If I copy and paste the address into a new email, it works just fine. Roadrunner says it's a Microsoft problem; Microsoft wants $49 just to hear the problem - can someone out there help me??? I do not have the Windows 2000 software - the computer was a gift already loaded and the software didn't come with it.

System Hangs Up
by Guest bob- 3 replies

Running XP Professional at home. Not connected to a network. When a particular user logs off, the system hangs: the cursor becomes an hourglass against a pale blue background screen. This seems to happen indiscriminately, but it happens often. To resolve, I must shut the PC down and restart. I have run anti-virus but it has not resolved the problem. Any ideas on how to resolve or what the problem might be? Thanks, Bob
