In my windows XP pc, I like using the windows fax viewer.... But i dont like the one that is in my other pc that has ME OS. That is because when i want to view a picture, it opens up with 'Image preview" fine; but there is no command for me to move on to the next picture. In order for me to see more pictures, i need to "x" out of them and click on another one...one by one. I have tried to look to see if an arrow is somewhere in the viewer so as to let me go to the next pic by simply clicking on the arrow; but i dont see one. thanks in advance

NTFS permissions work for group but not user
by Guest wmeehan79@gmail.com- 4 replies

I've run into an odd problem open files from one of our file servers, when logged into the Citrix box. If I assign a group permission to a folder, then the user can open it fine. However, if I just assign permissions to the user then they are denied access. This is only happening on one file server, the other one seems to work fine. Both file servers have the same GPO applied. All the workstations can access the folders/files without any problems. I'm not even sure where to start looking, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Wayne

Re: How to schedule a reboot in Windows Server 2003

Re: How to schedule a reboot in Windows Server 2003 Hi, I have the same need as well. To answer your question of why I would want to schedule a restart....... I need to schedule a restart in order to finalize Windows updates after all users have disconnected from the server and all backups have completed. This will be useful in getting the updates completed without inconveniencing the network users by waiting for a reboot during server access hours. Thanks, Matt 'Miha Pihler [MVP Wrote: > ;2036513']Hi Mark, > > There is a command line tool that comes with Windows Server 2003 -- so > you > don't need any 3rd party or resource ki…

Hi guys, I'm trying to use the remote desktop connection client in a computer and it says "The pre-release version of Remote Desktop Connection has expired. To download the full version of Remote Desktop Connection, go to Windows Update or contact your system administrator." But when I try to install WindowsXP-KB925876-x86-ENU.exe it syas that "Setup has detected that the Service Pack vesion of this system is newer than the update you are applying." So I'm stuck with this and I cannot make it work. My gues it this Windows has installed SP3... some release candidate (v.3264). Is there a way to force the client installation? Thanks! -- __________…

prompt administrator to allow or deny printing of print job
by Guest jinxcat101- 1 reply

Our organization provides internet access and allows clients to print for a fee. The network is set up similar to this: client---Print Server---Printers. the Cilent OS is Windows 2000 SP4, the Print Server is Windows XP Professional. Inorder to prevent the wasting of pages by users accidentally clicking the print button We would like to have an administrator control whether a print job actually goes to the printer. Is this possible? The print server is Windows XP Professional and there are two printers connected: 1. HP LaserJet 4000TN 2. HP color LaserJet 3500

Not Responding!!
by Guest Clayton- 9 replies

Over the last 6 months or so I have had to format and reinstall Vista 64 wSP-1 a few times due to programs not responding and I am unable to track down the problem. I'm trying to run programs, they do open then pauses for 10 - 15 seconds when trying to close I get not responding then end process message and trying to end process nothing happens. I can not do anything even ctrl/alt/delete. If I wait awhile things come back to normal until it happens again. I have removed the AV software and is still the same, run chkdsk, virus & malware scans all come back as ok. Reading a few posts out there, people are saying it's a common problem. cheers

Printers are not redirecting.
by Guest Eli- 3 replies

Windows 2008 terminal services When connecting to TS server thru remote app, printers don’t get redirected. If I connect directly thru RDP connection, then if I want to print, I’m able to see all my printers and printers on the server. If I use RemoteApp (when RDP pops-up to connect printers are selected), then I don’t see any printers at all. Any ideas?

Extend my desktop -- gimme back my app window!
by Guest lbb- 3 replies

Last week, I so cleverly set up extended desktop with a new shiny external monitor that they gave me at work (primary is my laptop screen). All was cool until now, I'm working at home with just my laptop, and I have an application that "remembers" it's supposed to be on the second window. Going into Control Panel -> Display settings and unchcking the "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" checkbox on the second monitor (which was the external monitor) does nothing. How can I get my app window back onto the laptop screen? TIA,

MyPicturesSlideshow ScreenSaver Settings
by Guest Danger_Duck- 1 reply

So, for my screensaver, I have "Use Picture in this Folder" as My Pictures. Unfortunately, this includes not only the pictures pointed to in the directory I specify (My Pictures), but also subfolders. Is there any way to have the screensaver not look inside subdirectories, or do I have to move any pictures I want displayed into a single directory without subdirectories? Also, where can I suggest to Microsoft that it should add the checkbox "include pictures in subdirectories" to the settings? Thanks

Everytime I shut down windows, I get a message "End Program f14". Also each time I do shut down, the "f14" changes to another hexadecimal number. The other issue that is occurring is with Cut/Paste, especially in Office 2007... it takes 1-15 seconds for the "Cut" to occur. Any suggestions?

Access Denied Suddenly on Shared Folders
by Guest Zakhary- 0 replies

I admit that everything was working and that -I- messed it up. To allow "My Documents" to be shared between two computers, I set one of the computers' (\\zm01) "My Documents" folder to be shared on the Workgroup. I then redefine the other computer's (\\zm02) "My Documents" target to the share name of the "My Documents" folder on \\zm01. It recently came to me that I may wat to restict access since a few people share this home network. So, I tried by disabling "simple sharing" and setting permissions, but realized that \\zm02\username could not be given permissions since a common domain doesn't exist. I then changed the share name to include a doll…
