I am running the fax service and shared fax printer on our Windows 2003 Server R2 (not SBS). This is also our domain server. I need to grant certain users the ability to view all faxes in the fax console for all users without giving them full administrator access for the entire domain.

I've not been able to download and install Flash Player. It downloads ok and starts the install then I get a message that the "Install Failed." I go to their website and follow troubleshooting, etc. and it still won't install. They suggest reloading Internet Explorer (I have 7). Did that and still wouldn't install. Any suggestions? ps. I haven't changed a thing to cause this that I know of. It tries to use Flash Player on YouTube and now it won't work. Thanks for any help. Doug

'Safely Remove Hardware' of flash drive disconnects my broadband
by Guest cuyocksol- 4 replies

From the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the taskbar I select to remove my USB flashdrive (Buffalo brand). I get the proper 'now safe' pop-up, but I then find that my broadband connection has also invariably been disconnected. (This is the other option in Safely Remove Hardware: "SpeedTouch USB ADSL PPP" - but I do not select it.) I then have to manually reconnect to the internet, and sometimes it won't even do this till after restart. (Windows XP home edition with SP3)

Can't start program at login for a particular
by Guest James Trogdon- 0 replies

I have a Windows 2003 R2 server that is running as a terminal server. I'm not running AD so I'm using the local user setup. I have my users setup on their Environment tab to "Start the following program at login". This works great for all users except one. The program doesn't run at all and he gets just the desktop. I even changed the program to run to c:\windows\notepad.exe as a test but it didn't even run that. Where can I look to find out what is stopping this user from running a program at login for the terminal server? Thanks for the help. James Trogdon

No IRQ for graphic card in Windows 95
by Guest Franc Zabkar- 14 replies

I have two 486/586 machines running Win95B. One has a Cirrus Logic VLB graphics card based on a CL-GD5428 chipset, the other has an S3 Trio V64+ PCI card. The latter card has a 2-pin interrupt header which I have jumpered, and I have also enabled "assign IRQ to VGA" in the BIOS setup. Neither machine assigns an IRQ to its graphics card. It appears that these cards are polled, much like standard (non-EPP/ECP) parallel printer ports which also don't get an IRQ in Device Manager. OTOH, my Win 98SE box does assign an IRQ to its PCI card (Diamond Stealth III S540). Is this normal behaviour? FWIW, both motherboards have UMC chipsets. - Franc Zabkar -- Please…

Hotfix Removal
by Guest Dave Johnson- 3 replies

I have a general questions i was working on a server we were having problems with and i was told by support to install Kb943669 after we installed this Hotfix it made the situation worse. I looked up the hotfix i found out that it has absolutly nothing to do with our specific issue. If i remove the hotfix will the removal turn all the previous setting back to normal. Or will the same issues still be there after the hotfix is removed because it already adjusted hte settings? I am just wondering if someone know what the actual removal of a hotfix does?
