Office Online - Clip Art - Screen does not show search results
by Guest Shrikant- 0 replies

I am using Office 2007 and Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 In Office Online -> Clip Art, When I give search for any name say Cat, after 3 seconds of search, the computer only returns the message 'Searched for "cat". It does not show the clips. This happens even if I give search for any other name. On the other hand if there are far larger number of clips for any given name, it gives the message "Your search returned more than 1200 items. To narrow the results, type a more specific keyword into the search box. " below the main message 'Searched for xxx'. When I narrow down my search, again only the main message comes without any clips. These clips …

XP File Sharing Help

I'm trying to create file shares on a couple of XP PCs so that I can use Microsoft Synctoy. This should be easy, but I must be missing something. Both are XP SP2 Home PCs. I already have documents and settings/all users/my documents shared on the network with a network name Shared Documents. That works fine, no problem. But, now with wanting to use synctoy, I want to share some individual user my documents files. So, I went into documents and settings/user1/my documents and set it to share this folder on the network and I allowed network users to change my files. That folder now shows up in the My Network Places on the other PC (right next to th…

We have a 2003 Server that is being used as a file and print server. It is also running our Panda antivirus, WSUS, and BackupExec. The machine is running out of memory on a weekly basis and requires a reboot after it freezes. When I rebooted it on Wednesday it said it was only using about 750 MB of RAM, according to Task Manager. Right now (5 days later) it is over 2,150 MB. The machine has 2 GB installed. Can somebody tell me where to begin? Thanks, Ron

Hi... Hoping you can help with this problem User gets pop up saying windows passwords will expire in 14 day (something like that) We have nothing set up like this for the passwords...just to reset once a year. User will reset password and then after logging on again can not log in with that password. User is also locked out after 1 attempt? However, if user changes password to same one as before, then there is no problem At first it was just 1 user...now it seems to be affecting all users. If the user changes password and gets messed up, then it's a pain to get them back to the way they were before...I delete various workgroups from the profi…

Article: Trouble Ahead for Microsoft's Windows OS

My commentrary: Exactly as I predicted! Gesh I should become a TECH PROPHET or something! lol What will happen is that the current model of huge bloated power-hungry OS's like Vista (the best example of a FAT PIG WITH LIPSTICK) will NOT survive. New technologies that can work on small and cheap processors and with small solid state hard drives and little ram will be needed. All these machines will use the CLOUD more and more. When I was talking all about this a year ago, the microsoft dork fanbois had absolutely NO IDEA what the heck I was talking about. But you see they don't have a broad understanding of events going on. This is not MAGIC or PSYCHIC a…

Boot Up Problems
by Guest JohnK- 8 replies

I have an older IBM NetVista 682311U (desktop) running XP SP3. When I turn the unit on I can only get F1 and F12 on the screen. When I click on either key the key disappears from the screen and nothing happens. I tried using the Boot Discs I created when I got the machine but nothing happens. Someone suggested the hard drive was bad. Next I removed the hard drive and put in a new hard drive and tried the Boot Discs again. Now, messages recycle on the screen but the net of it is it can't find an operating system. Suggestions please? I've already replaced the PC but I'd like to get this machine working again so I can donate it to a nonprofit I work …
