Guest sharvey3 Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Does Windows 10 For Workstations put a limit on the physical cores of your system? so I recently purchased a Dell R820 server with 4 10core processors 40 physical cores and 256gb ram for some personal server hosting/ coding learning etc. now when I made the purchase I was not aware it did not include an OS. I see 10 for workstations supports 4 physical processors and 6tb ram but is there a Capp on the cores? as in with windows 10 for workstations can I utilize my full 40core system? I already know the system meets the requirements for install just don't want to spend $300 on an OS to find out I need windows server witch at about $1500 for 40 cores costs more then I spent on server itself. another example: windows 10 32bit caps you at 4gb ram I think and 64 is not. so again to re iderate since I had no luck with support twice now does the workstation OS have any CPU restrictions?
