Guest ric982 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Hi, I use Protools to create music (.wav) files. I put these in iTunes. I have Windows Media Player (WMP) pointing to my Music directory that contains the iTunes media library. WMP sees the music I have in iTunes. I have been using the Windows 10 DNLA server to access this music via a Roku media player client on my TV/Stereo. I recently deleted one song from iTunes and also added a song to iTunes. Unlike in the past, although the old tune has disappeared on the iTunes and WMP GUI's, it is still showing up in the Roku MP client's directory. Also the new tune is visable in iTunes and WMP, but its not showing up in the Roku MP clients directory. If I select the deleted file (which BTW has a greyed out icon), the Roku media player detects a connection error (e.g. like the DNLA server got a request to access a file but it is no longer to be found). The music files described were under "Unknown Artist/Unknown Album" (expected). I've tried the following: Deleted iTunes metadata and rebuilding its metadata. WMP>Organize>Manage Libraries>Music and removed my music directory (which deleted all my media from WMP) and then re- added the directory which restored it. WMP>Organize>Apply Media Information Changes Deleted Roku MP channel and re-added. Ran Windows Explorer>Properties>Tools>Check on C and D drives. - there was a problem with a music file (not either of the two above) that was hanging the chkdisk on D. - I ran Bitdefenders Disk Cleanup and it also said there was a problem on D. - I ran Bitdefinder One Click optimizer and it found some registry errors. - After I ran the optimizer, the registry errors were gone and I could run chkdisk on D. Ran Windows Explorer>Properties>General>Disk Cleanup on C and D drives. Emptyed Recycle Bin Rebooted Problem as originally described still there. Settings>Apps>Apps and Features>iTunes>Modify Repair Reboot Problem as originally described still there. Deleted "Unknown Album" and moved all songs to recycle bin. Verifed album/songs are gone in iTunes and WMP. Emptied recycle bin. Rebooted The "Unknown Album" and 108 songs under it are still showing on the Roku Media Player Client in grey. BTW, Roku says their RMP does not store any metadata. Some it would appear that the Rokup MP is getting the deleted "Unknown Artist/Unknown Album/Songs**" from some metadata somewhere - though I can't seem to figure out where. Windows 10 Pro - 10.0.17134 WMP 12.0.17134.799 iTunes 12.9.5.7 Any thoughts or suggestions? More... Quote
