I am trying to use a soft-phone instead of a physical phone on my Windows 10 computer. One problem I have is that i have to set my default playback device as my headset so that when the phone rings and i answer it with the headset, i can hear the caller through the headset. But this means when the phone rings, i dont hear it (because i dont keep my headset on the whole time - in fact i only wear it when needed). So i'd like my default playback device to be my computer speakers. But then, in order to take a call, and have privacy, i have to switch the default playback device BACK to the headset, and then BACK to the speakers after the call. There has to be a better way, right? Can Windows 10 alternate between the two depending on a condition? If headset is touched (or button pressed) then switch playback to the headset. Something like that. Does that make sense? I need my default playback to be my speakers as well because i am missing meeting notification sounds as well (and thus missing meetings).
