Guest viProCon Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Generally I am always quite happy with Win 10, far better than Win 7 at this point too. As an IT consultant I work with it daily. But I have to admit, sometimes I want to reach across the ether and smack whoever keeps messing with something that is functioning just fine. Case in point, the Windows Update Active Hours thing. Some recent update has caused this feature to go utterly stupid. I change the times, and they just reset back to 8 AM 5 PM right in front of me. The time gap allowed is 18 hours, so if I set it to 7 AM and 11 PM, that's only 16 hours, and yet, the dumb thing resets anyway. On another computer elsewhere, no problem, I can set those very same parameters. There are zero domain-joined systems, no local group policies set, nothing. All are default Win 10 Pro systems, on build 1903. Some perhaps are not fully updated with a recent patch. Much of my post is a rant because it's either this or nothing :) One wonders if a day will ever come where Microsoft can just perfect a feature and leave it alone. I am sure there is an override. I could Google, but would rather some human interaction so please share any insights :) Thank you. More... Quote
