Guest Hosmoz Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Hi all, I am an I.T. tech working for a school board and I have over 200 PC's to manage. Lately I have found the students discovered what they think to be a funny adjustment to the Windows 10 sound properties label. Basically if they right click on the volume icon on the task bar and then select "open sound settings" they can navigate to the sound device of choice and go to "device properties" and input whatever name they feel like for the description. Then the next person to log into the PC will have a nasty description waiting for them when they hover the mouse over the volume icon on the task bar as the previous genius changed the propriety name to something vulgar. I have been searching all over for a solution and everything from reg hacks to GPO but nothing seems to be a persistent solution. I believe the description is changed from anyone on the device and then it changes the settings on the local machine. I dont have a huge amount of experience with Powershell but can manage. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. More... Quote
