Guest greatbear3021 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Few days ago my Windows 10 Home PC became very slow. After some initial troubleshooting I decided to roll back latest Quality Update by doing Shift+Restart. After doing this, the PC did come back to normal speed (it was Windows Defender taking up all Disk and CPU resources), but now all standard local accounts are missing on the sign in screen. Only local admin accounts are being shown on sign in screen. Their folders are still there under C:\Users, and Windows is not allowing me to create a new account with a username that matches the missing accounts. I cannot adjust fast user switching from group policy as mentioned in another thread because this is a home edition - no group policy option. Also, User Profiles is showing different number of user profiles depending on how you reach the User Profiles dialog. Compare Image 4 with Image 6. Image 4 shows 5 user accounts, Image 6 shows only one. More... Quote
