Guest Get Faxing Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Hello, We've noticed a problem with the version 1903 of Windows 10 in regards to TAPI voice modems playback & recording functionality. There is a problem with Driver32 registry key missing an appropriate "wave" key with the value "serwvdrv.dll". For some reason, this key & value is deleted. There are many of these analog voice modems connected to Windows 10 machines using various third-party voice software. This problem causes all software using TAPI ( not passthrough mode) for voice modems playback and recording functions to fail. Fortunately, an experienced TAPI developer was able to pin point the problem and provide a working solution. Microsoft needs to fix this in an update to Windows 10. I cannot post a link here due to restrictions on my account, but I have posted a detailed description and solution on getfaxing.com. Using regedit, locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32 In the Drivers32 key, locate all keys listed with “wave#”. For example, “wave“, “wave1” , “wave2” etc. Determine the last “wave#” key value that exists. If you only see “wave” listed here, then create a new string value named “wave2” with the string data “serwvdrv.dll“. If you have multiple keys that exist such as “wave“, “wave1“, “wave2“, then add the the next available new string value. For example, “wave3” with the string data “serwvdrv.dll“ If you are using a 64-bit Windows 10 version 1903, you must do this extra step and also repeat the above using the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32 Restart Windows 10 when you are done.
