So my laptop started restarting and shuting down randomly yesterday and hasn't stopped since.

a list of the things I have tried:

  1. virus scan
  2. changing the power/sleep options
  3. updating drivers
  4. unchecking automatically restart
  5. checking hardware in system tune-up (pressing esc button on power-up and going into system diagnostic)
  6. checking memory in BIOS
  7. disabling shut off to save power
  8. changing minimum processer state to 0
  9. troubleshooting

I then noticed that in the Event Viewer, at and after every restart/shutdown there were these two errors:

1) audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0 (EventLog)

2) the last shutdown/restart was unexpected (Kernal-Power)

I'm fairly sure the errors and the restarts/shutdown are related, but don't know how. I would like to know what's going on and how to fix it.
