Windows 10 stuck "preparing automatic repair" and unable to get into bios boot menu

Hi,

I'm stuck in the "preparing automatic repair" loop after a recent update to Windows 10. This didn't occur immediately after the update but a couple of re-starts later. I can't get into the bios menu to change the boot order to boot from a recovery disk. According to the PC manufacturer documentation I should be able to do this via F2 on booting ( Samsung Series-5 ultrabook np530u3c) but that doesn't work and I just alternate between the initial Samsung logo and the black screen, blue windows logo with Preparing Automatic Repair text and that is it. Numerous hard restarts have no effect and what I think is reasonably extensive searching for a solution doesn't produce anything that works.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Martin
