Guest SureshMurugesan Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 I had a windows 10 laptop that crashed 2 weeks ago. It had SSD. I took out the SSD to copy the files to my other laptop. when connecting this SSD to my other laptop, I was able to select, read files from many folders. But the one folder "/users/<name>" displays a message "permission denied/you dont have permission" when I click on that folder. I know the login password for my old laptop. I believe the <name> is the user name. If I provide these creds, it does not accept. Do I need to access the files with admin creds of my current laptop. Will it work? Do I need to make any other changes before I can safely access these files. Thank you More... Quote
