Does XP contain self-diagnostics to determine if a file or files are missing?

If not, can someone please recommend an outstanding software program.

Thanks, Rick

Xp contains the command SFC SCANNOW which is called System File Checker. It

check XP files only and has the capability of correcting/adding files from

your original CD.

If you do a Google on the above it will explain in more detail.

There's the System File Checker.

Start>Run>sfc /scannow [enter]

Have your XP install CD handy.

Go slow when using System File Checker(SFC). It has been known to cause some

problems of it's own. I been there done that. Greg T

Re: XP Missing Files Diagnostics

Thanks to all. I tried it, it worked and no corrupted or missing files were

found. After reading the article, I expected to have to dig out my XP CD but

that wasn't the case. Thanks again. Rick
