It depends on your disk structure. It would be much simpler to boot the machine with a DOS boot disk (http://www.bootdisk.com) or to load the Microsoft Virtual PC (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtualpc/default.mspx). BTW, what's wrong with the Command Prompt under WinXP or Win2000?

Guest RalfG Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Re: Can we have two OS XP PROF and DOS There would be more involved than just the boot.ini settings. You can have multiple OS on the computer but you also have to keep in mind the limitations of the OS you intend to install. NTFS file system won't work for many of them and partition size is also a limiting factor. IIRC you'd have to create a FAT partition of around 4Gig for DOS or Win95. A FAT32 partition would be needed for Win98/ME. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306559/ http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsVista/en/library/5025760b-0433-4ba1-a2f4-9338915fdb4b1033.mspx?mfr=true "|-| oo K" <red_spider_net@yahoo.co.in> wrote in message news:1184233478.202280.205800@n60g2000hse.googlegroups.com... > Hi, > > ONe can keep two operating system in SYSTEM ex > > 1>WINDOW XP PROF > 2>WINDOWS 2000 > > during boot process computer ask to select one .(default : within 30 > sec) > > Can it be possible to have to OS > > 1>WINDOW XP PROF > 2>DOS > > > what changes should be made in boot.ini file of > xp.......................... >

I have a DOS partition that is only 30 > meg. Talking maximum, not minimum. Does seem like a lot when you think of DOS programs.
