Guest a Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Hi I have posted this problem about one week ago. The problem was fixed by no reason for a while, and now it comes back again. Problem description My PC is locked up at pre-POST stage. The keyboard light is flashed once. I have replaced the battery. 99% of the time, no monitor signal received. 1% of the time, the monitor receives signal and it shows that the boot sequence halts at "Initialize Plug and Play devices" So, how should I narrow down the troubleshooting? Thanks

If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA). Have all your data backed up before you take the machine into a shop. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers http://www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User
