Guest Alexander Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 TASKMGR just came up showing only the "CPU Usage" and "CPU Usange History" windows and nothing else. No tabs or list menu. Only way to shut it down = [alt]f4. How can I restore it to its original state? Many bonus point if you send a copy of your reply to ALEXANDEReBARNEs@Yahoo.com. T.i.A. Alexander
Guest Patti MacLeod Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 RE: TASKMGR options (tabs) missing Hi Alexander, Sounds like your Task Manager is in what is called "Tiny Footprint" mode. Double-click anywhere in the outer border area of the window and then the tabs for the other options will return. Guest John John Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Re: TASKMGR options (tabs) missing Lol. You can double click anywhere on the border... top, bottom, left, right, corners, it doesn't matter where so long as it's on the border. Guest John John Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Re: TASKMGR options (tabs) missing How would one replicate the problem of putting the Task Manager in Tiny Footprint Mode where to then resolve it you would have to double-click *exactly* on the red spot to return it to full size? Is this particular condition caused by malware? I have Windows NT4, 2000, XP Pro, Server 2003 and I cannot replicate this on any of these machines, I'm a bit curious as to the occurrence of this specific condition, this is the first time I see this particular condition reported. All Microsoft articles regarding Tiny Footprint instructs users to double click anywhere on the Top border, my findings have been that you can click just about anywhere on the Task Manager to switch modes. Guest RajKohli Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Re: TASKMGR options (tabs) missing Barry1210 was not double-clicking on correct location that is why I pointed out the link where a Red Circle indicate atleast one correct location. If you read my discussion with Barry, you will know that he doesn't come up with a solution in First attempt and said "You were correct. I was not clicking in the correct spot."
