access denied for all usb devices

Any idea why when I plug inmy usb devices such as ext hdd or thumb drives, it

will not allow me to access it. These usb devices work ok with other pc.

Please advice what can I do apart from reformatting, thanks

I won't be of any great help except to say that very same problem occurred

for the first time for me this morning! There may be a bug going around...

I got back the USB hubs by re-installing Windows xp. I still get a number of

screwy warning messages tho.
