Guest maustin Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Is it possible to run Windows XP Pro as an application server? That is, is it possible for multiple users to connect to the box and run applications concurrently?

It depends on the application. 2. It depends on how many inbound connections you are making. Inbound connections limit in XP - http://support.microsoft.com/?id=314882 5 - XP Home/Vista Home Basic 10 - Vista Home Premium/Vista Ultimate/XP Pro 49 - SBS 2000 74 - SBS 2003 Unlimited for full Server O/Ses Please note that the limitation is on *connections* and not *computers*. Each computer can make multiple connections to a server or pseudo-server and often does. So if you have 3 workstations and each of them makes 2 connections to the pseudo-server, this would probably work. If you have 5 workstations, then you'll probably run into problems. If you need more help, you'll need to provide more information about what you are trying to do and the number of machines in your network.
