Guest Pete Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I had inadvertently "restored" some folders/files from my Vista installations (Common Files, Internet Explorer folder etc) to a folder in my XP installation. Unfortunately I cannot delete these files or folders - the message I get is "Access Denied". I've tried to change the attribute of these files but am not allowed to do that either. I'd like to get rid of these folders which are occupying quite a large space on my hard disk and would appreciate any help.
Guest John John Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Re: Can't delete files While booted in the Vista installation you should be able to delete *any* files or folders on the dormant XP installation. You may need elevated privileges (Administrator, RunAs) or you may need to take ownership and grant yourself proper permissions, but you should be able to delete them.
