Guest Buzzman1964 Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I have had a small network in my home for a few years now. At this time my wife's computer won't connect to the internet. At first it had low connectivity. Now it says that it is connected but it isn't. I get a weird IP address (169.254.36.30) when connected. I was using a Linksys BEFSR81 router that recently died (only operates at 10 half MPS now) and a D-Link DI-524 wireless when this happened. Interestingly I received a notice that the computer had restarted after it downloaded an important update. How it connected for this I have no idea. Any ideas out there? -- BMB

One of these two items might help. 1. Click Start, Run, type: netsh winsock reset Press Enter key Restart the system 2. You can also try this software download from a working machine: LSP-Fix http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm -- Joe =o)
