Guest Luc Henrot Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I have a dial-up ISDN connection (Speedtouch modem). When starting up the system my modem initialises, and after some seconds, starts to flikker its right LED. Then comes the user-login, which I enter as an administrator. My modem goes on flikkering, but when I ask to start the dial-up, is says: "no dial tone". When I wait a twenty minutes, it all stops by itselves flikkering and returns into a stable LED. Starting up the dial-up is OK, I don't have any troubles the long of the session. I suspect that there is a program, routine (no virus I hope) that executes 'something' and waits for a reply or something else. As it happens before the user-login, I cannot see what is executing at the startup, which programs or routines. After the startup, when I check everything is OK, but my modem still doesn't detect any dial-tone as he says, although there is one. The task-manager does show any active application, the performance is in IDLE-state. Is there any way to check what is executed at start-up time, and before luser login? As I staed before, this problem disappear by itself after a variable number of minutes.
