Guest Don J Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Re: "Activate Windows" icon missing. I've reinstalled Windows, so I guess I have to reactivate. But there is no "Activate Windows" icon in the trey. I note that if I click the "Update Windows" icon, I do go to the Windows website, but I hang on the "This website..." screen and never get to the one with the two buttons. Did you reinstall a retail version, an OEM version or a Volume Licensed version. The retail version should require activation though you could have copied the activation information from the previous install. The OEM version may require activation, but probably doesn't. > > "Dave B." <mail@nomail.net> wrote in message > news:eSfUr0KyHHA.4712@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >> Do you need to reactivate?
