Guest Steven Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Re: Confused about KB article 911913 Hey TP, So RDP 60 is the hotfix they are refering to? I'm looking at making the change large scale, I can push RDP 60 out vis WSUS and make the registry changes via GPO but every fully updated client I look at only has a portion of the path indicated in the article. Missing Default\AddIns\RDPDR whereas the article indicates to add the DWORD only, what am I missing? Thanks! -- Steve "TP" wrote: > The registry setting causes the Remote Desktop Client to > redirect the user's default printer *only*. > > You need to obtain the version of the client mentioned > in the article, or use the latest, version 6.0.6000.16386, > available here: > > http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=26f11f0c-0d18-4306-abcf-d4f18c8f5df9 > > -TP > > Matt Emmott wrote: > > I have a question about http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911913 - At > > first I thought it set it so ONLY the client's default printer mapped > > to the term server session, but after re-reading the article I'm not > > quite as sure. > > > > Are they saying that it will bring the client's printer to the term > > server even if the local printer's option is unchecked? Guest TP Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Re: Confused about KB article 911913 Re: Confused about KB article 911913 Hello, The article refers to a modified version of an older client. The article states the file version as 6.0.2600.0 which is *incorrect*. The newer clients include the new "default printer only" capability so you have the option of using one of them instead of the hotfix version. I prefer to use client version 5.2.3790.3959 because it does not have the bugs that are present in the 6.0.6000.16386 version that you get through WSUS. The .msi install file for client version 5.2.3790.3959 is located on your 2003 SP2 server here: C:\WINDOWS\system32\clients\tsclient\win32\msrdpcli.msi You will need to create the registry entry per Vera's suggestion or another method. Thanks. -TP Steven wrote: > Hey TP, > > So RDP 60 is the hotfix they are refering to?
