Hi,

For some reason the preview handler in VISTA Ultimate is not working

properly. I can preview .doc files and graphic files (.gif, .jpg) but no

others.

Interestingly, when I select a .pdf file to preview in VISTA explorer, while

there is no preview in the preview pane I can see a small preview of the

file in the icon displayed in the bottom left hand corner of the window (in

what I would have called the Status bar in previous versions). Somtimes this

seems to get "stuck", but selecting, say, a folder, then reselecting a pdf

file seems to reset the small icon preview again.

The pdf preview doesn't work at all in Outlook 2007 - it generates an error

saying there was an error with the pdf preview handler.

Anyone have any clues on this one. Seems a LOT of people are having the same

problem, but no solutions have appeared yet.

Re: Preview handler not working

the pdf preview thumbnail is generated by a dll from adobe reader

and was not a part of Vista originally...

foxit (foxit reader) see this page.. NOTE: I have not tried this!

I just know it exists and I am forwarding the information to you.

Carl,

Shouldn't you be posting to primate.retard.general? You are in the wrong

group. You should be with your own species.

Just FYI.
