Login to Microsoft wont work - need to create account but already have one....????

Hello,I am trying to sing into my microsoft account on my acer laptop (windows 11) and it wont allow me to do so. I log in through windows security and then when I get to the first page it comes up with this message: That Microsoft account doesn’t exist. Enter a different account or get a new one.This is confusing as I already have an account. I click get a new one anyway and then when I do so I receive this message: *****@gmail.com is already a Microsoft account. If it's yours, sign in now.then when i go to sign in i receive the first message again. This is a vicious cycle and extremely
