As of, around, two months ago, my external hard drive has been causing issues with the files located in it. I mainly store games in there and noticed that no games want to run at all. Steam, when updating games, displayed the message "Corrupt update files" or "Corrupt download files" while other games showed the message "Game file verification failed". The games I had previously downloaded were missing as well.In order to try and fix the issue, I executed - in Administrator: Command Prompt - "chkdsk D: /f /r /x". The scan ran for only one stage and stopped after displaying the messages "A
