Win11 cannot see Ethernet connection

I have my main Desktop W10 computer connected to my Router by ethernet cable, which is working fine - I see "Network 2" when looking at "networks & Sharing" .I also have another ethernet cable running from the Router to other side of the house, which was connected to a Range Extender and worked fine for WiFi connections. But Wifi was too slow so I connected the ethernet cable to a 12 in 1 adapter (Docking Station). and connected my laptop computer to the adapter via a USB-C cable. I know the adapter is working because I also connected a 4K HDMI cable to my TV (working) and my laptop power
