Cannot run .jar files, I've tried multiple solutions.

I'm using Windows 10. I play Minecraft and I use a mod called Fabric API, it is a core library for other compatible mods. It needs regular updates and suddenly I cannot run the .jar files when downloading the new files. In fact I cannot run any .jar files for any mods at all.When I double click it runs for less then a second and then disappears. I don't see anything running in task manager either. I've tried:uninstalling and reinstalling java (using the correct 64bit for my system)setting java.exe/javaw.exe as the default for .jar filescreated a .bat file to runchecked that my files extensions
