I'm trying to get in to windows and it's telling me the password is incorrect. Try again. This happened when it updated

I turned my laptop two days ago. I haven't used for a few months. After I used it it stated before it had updates which I choose update and turn off. The following day it had a message that my PC did not start correctly. I reset the computer but it keeps giving me the message your PC did not start correctly. When it asks me to restart it states my password is incorrect. I reset the password through microsoft, but it doesnt' allow me to get in to windows. Can you help to see how I can get in to my computer.
