Simple 2000 domain server

We're getting to a stage with our small office network where the

numebr of PCs is getting slightly too big for a workgroup. We've also

just had a data server on a different network replaced and have a

spare Windows 2000 Server (hardware and software) and are thinking of

creating a domain server and moving from a workgroup to a domain.

MY question is: Is it quite simple? I have a fair amount of

experience of running an NT4 domain, but active directory boggles me.

Do I have to us ADS? And how simple is setup? Is it a fairly easy

case of reinstalling Win2k Server and setting up a domain, or is there

quite a lot of work? It onyl need to be a simpel logon server with

about 40 GB of network shares for shared files etc.

Another point: We're currently getting our internet access through the

next door office: They pay for the broadband and we installed a

wireless router there. In our office we have an access point picking

up the signal and going into another router, with our office PCs on a

mixture of wired hubs and wireless. The office next door is

192.168.3.x and we're 192.168.2.x, and it all works quite well. When

we transition to a domain, will this situation still work? I'm fairly

sure it will be as normal, but just checkign there won't be any funny

little bits.

Thanks in advance for any advice and FAQs/URLs you can point me at.
