Backup File and Folder Permissions

Last Night I lost all my file share ntfs permissions becasue my servers went

down. Is there a way I can create a backup everynight of the file and folder

permissions?

 

Would a system state backup do the job?

ACLs are backed up automatically. When you restore files

or folders, ntbackup.exe prompts you with the question

"Do you wish to restore the permission structure" (or words

to this effect).
