Guest cisconoobie via WinServerKB.com Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Last Night I lost all my file share ntfs permissions becasue my servers went down. Is there a way I can create a backup everynight of the file and folder permissions? Would a system state backup do the job? -- Message posted via WinServerKB.com http://www.winserverkb.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx/windows-server/200708/1

When you restore files or folders, ntbackup.exe prompts you with the question "Do you wish to restore the permission structure" (or words to this effect).
