Windows 11 Will Not Recognize External HD - ADATA HD710

Hard drive is not recognized when I plug in. It will pop up and ask to initialize when I bring up disk mgt. Both options result in a Data Error: Cyclic Redundancy Check, When I take a look at the device properties in Device Management: "This device is working properly." However there is an event in the log: "Device settings for USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_ADATA&Prod_HD710&Rev_2AR1\02B08081500200000073&0 were not migrated from previous OS installation due to partial or ambiguous device match."I tried uninstalling device (and unplugging) and restarting multiple times.
