Transferring Windows 10 retail licence to new computer as Windows 11

I just built a new computer with the intent to install Windows 11 using the same Windows 10 retail license I am using on my old computer. I installed Windows on the new computer before deactivating it on the old computer, just to ensure that everything is working fine as I want my old computer to still be active in case I need to troubleshoot. On the new computer, it shows Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft Account. I was expecting an error to come up since the same license key is activated on my old computer as well but they both say they are activated with a
