Why did my fps drop from 60+ to 5 after an unexpected update?

I was playing with my friends and my FPS was 60+. My screen went black and I couldn't turn off my computer so I just unplugged it. When I started my windows again it started to update itself? After the update my fps dropped all the way to 4. Everything else works smoothly, except the games. What's the reason? How can I fix it? I already tried dusting my computer and changing the HDMI-Cable. Also tried scanning the computer with antivirus and it didn't have any malfare.
