14 Serial Blasts in Ahmedabad

There have been fourteen serial blasts in Ahmedabad just in the last two hours. The blasts occurred in the city's most populated areas and it is reported that nineteen people are already dead. I have one friend in one of the blasted areas and I don't know what is his fate. I will have to wait till Monday morning till I get any news.

 

Please I need your blessings and prayers for the people of Ahmedabad and India so that we may recover from the loss. Just yesterday, there had been 8 serial blasts in another well known city of India named Bangalore and today is this. I am really worried so please support me. I really need some moral encouragement at the moment.

 

I express my condolences and sorrow to those people who lost their lives due to the blast. :(

Thank you for your kind words Wolfey. The friend is a colleague of mine who joined up recently. I don't even have his phone number and his area is one of the most badly affected areas. I hope that no more people are reported dead as the thought already haunts me. Once again, thank you for being by my side.

Is it really happening? Surat, another city in my state, has been bombed today. 100 are already reported to be injured and I know not how many are dead? Is it going to end like this?

Goku I've read a few articles on what's going on. It seems no one has accepted responsibility but everyone including the government suspects certain factions of trying to incite differences between certain groups.

 

It might be religous groups (radicals) that are attempting to do this. Hopefully they will fail in turning brother against brother.

 

Let sane minds prevail so that the insanity of evil minds fails.

They are Muslim terrorists and they do it indeed for religious motives. They also bear a grudge on us due to the Kashmir issue. I will keep you posted, though.

I know your post was some time ago but it probably does't seem that way to you. It is beyond disturbing when these things hit home, Believe me I know and have shared your experiences.

 

Was your collegue safe?? You have been most kind to me as a new member and it saddens me that you have had to face that kind of reality.

 

Sometimes all we can do is shake our heads, shed a tear and wonder what it is all about.

Ah, those words give me indescribable comfort. Thankfully, my colleague was saved from the effect of the blasts but not by much. The blasts took place at either ends of his street and thus he was only narrowly saved. But I do feel sorry for those people who were not so lucky.

 

We are recovering from the trauma and I hope we will overcome it soon. Thank you for your support. :)

I would like to think we will all recover. As a country we (the USA) chose to wage war on two fronts. In the beginning I have to admit that my anger and hurt and possibly my absence form home caused me to believe that it was the right thing to do. I soon came to realise it was not. I am not a pacisfist despite my anto Vietnam war sentiment from way back.

 

Now I would like to think that the last few days may be the signal that we have recovered. That we will fight back not just fight.

 

The non terrorist world is a powerful force and we must not alienate each other. I think that Obama understands that and from his personal victory may my country does as well.

 

There will be battles fought in the future and some will be with the gun I am sure. The real battle though is for the "hearts and minds." We talked about that a lot but forgot what it means.

 

I guess my point is, Goku, never forget what happened on your streets but do not let it poison you or they win. Stay well.

I find hard to comprehend how anyone can kill so indiscriminatelyin pursuit of their beliefs.

It will never provide the answer and only succeeds in creating more hatred.

 

It was Churchill who said "Jaw Jaw is better than War War", and sooner or later talking and reaching aggreement is the only answer.

How many more good innocent lives must be scarificed before these fanactics realise their atrocities will not provide the answer.
