Guest mmark751969@yahoo.com Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 just wondering if there are any issues with windows server 2003 service pack 2. I have one AD domain with 3 domain controllers on server 2003 with no service packs on the DC's. The server i want to upgrade is a member server running sql server 2000. The other applications on it are dell openmanage, arcserver backup agent, adaptec storage manager, and visual C++ 6.0. Just wondering if win server 2k3 sp2 plays nice with all of those. The release notes don't say anything about them. Thanks

We had an issue with ISA 2006. You should start with the Service Pack 1. Are you looking after a new functionality from the SP2 ? -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com <mmark751969@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:1187381650.104203.58050@a39g2000hsc.googlegroups.com... > just wondering if there are any issues with windows server 2003 > service pack 2. Guest shimoni Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 RE: Win2k3 server sp2 I deployed a few sp2 servers on dell hardware and sql 2000 and didn't have any issues. -- MCSE 2003 "mmark751969@yahoo.com" wrote: > just wondering if there are any issues with windows server 2003 > service pack 2. Guest Mathieu CHATEAU Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Re: Win2k3 server sp2 the case i catched is a bit specific: Apparently, if you have an out of date version of the file DBNETLIB.dll ,the Service Pack 2 disables TCP/IP access to MS SQL Server. This is a defense against the Slammer worm. (some ugly work around by Microsoft a have to say...) -- Cordialement, Mathieu CHATEAU http://lordoftheping.blogspot.com "shimoni" <shimoni@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:45D23455-7940-4BBF-9E90-46E37105F133@microsoft.com... >I deployed a few sp2 servers on dell hardware and sql 2000 and didn't have > any issues. > -- > MCSE 2003 > > > > > "mmark751969@yahoo.com" wrote: > >> just wondering if there are any issues with windows server 2003 >> service pack 2. Guest NW Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Re: Win2k3 server sp2 I had trouble with a print server. Several HP and Xerox printers wouldn't connect until I disabled their SNMP on the port options. Otherwise I've updated two domain controllers without issue. I recall seeing some issues where people used the downloaded version of the SP2, and recommended using the version that is downloaded from Automatic Updates. I don't recall what the issues where, but I've always used the AU version.... <mmark751969@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:1187381650.104203.58050@a39g2000hsc.googlegroups.com... > just wondering if there are any issues with windows server 2003 > service pack 2.
