Mara Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Can't comment on the computer itself but wow, I'm drooling over your 22" screen! Enjoy your new computer, DSTM! Quote
SweatyOmnivore Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Thats a pretty good spec if you say you wont want to play games. Some of the older stuff will actually play well on it (like command and conquer 3) but dont probrably wont cope with anything like crysis. The LG screens are always good quality, where did u get it from did you order from the internet? Quote

Some of the older stuff will actually play well on it (like command and conquer 3) but dont probrably wont cope with anything like crysis. The LG screens are always good quality, where did u get it from did you order from the internet? The Screens are readily available, here in Sydney, in most Computer Shops. The 19" average $250 22" $295 AND 24" $450. I asked the Computer Shop to test the new Monitor, before I bought it. The first 3 they opened, had 1 dead pixel in each,so good idea to get the shop to test, before you buy.IMO. I bought the new PC, because this one is a Dinosaur, and eventually,I will run Vista.:) Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.

LG 22" Lcd Flat Panel monitor. Doug, from top to bottom the spec is fine - I would suggest that you check the RAM compatability with the MOBO as Kingston RAM can be a pain. Other than that nice spec and if you need any help building it then check my sig :D Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.

Dalo Harkin Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I hope that some of the stuff in my SIG helps people :) (It's not comprehensive but I am going to be constantly adding to it) as for 7Zip - I personally use Winrar Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.

RandyL Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Doug for zip files you don't need a third party program. Windows can extract zip files just fine. Just right click a zipped folder and click extract all. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. RandyL Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 As for 7-Zip and WinRAR they could come in handy at times for specific type of files but WinRAR is not free whereas 7-Zip is free. Dalo Harkin Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Winrar is widely used around the globe, but as Randy says it is not FREE, as far as I know you can still use any winzip program to open RAR files.
