Guest Sandy Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I have several flash drives and just bought a Scan Disk Cruzer. No problem on plug in and viewing files, but when I try to eject the device I get this error: appstop.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. I tried it on another computer and have no problem ejecting it. I also tried another flash drive in the desktop that is giving me the problem and when I try to unload that one it says: appservice.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks -- Sandy Simon

If so then your best bet is the FAQs of the Scan Disk Cruzer application. I don't think it has anything to do with Windows. If it works on a different PC then this simply means that there is some incompatibility on your own PC.

I have noticed that I get app errors when I try and remove some of my other usb flash devices also.

Change the extension of both of them from .exe to .ex, reboot the machine and watch what happens. If one of your applications complains then you will know what the misbehaving executables belong to. And by the way, please don't wait another nine days until you reply. This item will have disappeared from my newsreader's horizone by then.
