Unfortunately I think its only functional on vista , allough some hackers

bypassed that and had it going on xp , so if you can get it running on xp

your have better fps and its more playable :P

 

but if you want to play it on vista your need insane high spec pc , and I

mean NASA high , research indicated not even a quad core cpu system can make

vista run faster than xp's performance .

 

In short vista can burn in hell - bit off topic but what the hell

If I wanna play halo 3 it will be on the xbox but then ill be forced to use

the control pad for aiming and its primitive compared to mouse aim , aghh..

 

on the subject of linux sure it has potential but it lacks support and the

GUI pisses me off as well, i could go on but i cant be bothered

So you can run Halo 3 with DirectX9? Surely the graphics will not look as

good. Or are you saying that there is a DirectX10 hack for XP?

Hey, once you pass the crashes, I don't mind a minor (less than 3%) decrease

in performance for an OS with far more options in Audio, Graphics, and

Programming...

 

Granted, I highly disapprove of Microsoft's attempts to force it onto users.

Many users, both business and home, can't even support Vista because it's

either too resource intensive, or it's far too glitchy with their hardware.

It does.. it says that if you want to run games windows is better than

Linux.

Its the same for any application if you want that application you need an OS

and platform it runs on.

No amount of people screaming this OS is better than that one will get

around the fundamental need to run applications.

But I think it is entirely believeable that Vista sucks donkey dicks

performance wise even on Quad-cores

After all, a quad-core will not run 4 times as fast as a similar clocked

single-core. Not even 3 times as fast is normal

You can assume as rule of thumb that a quad-core machine will run at 200% up

to 250% faster than a single core, similar clocked
