Guest wassup.doc Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Until now I have no problem downloading binaries from Newsgroups to ordinary CD's. Now that I would like to use the extra storage capacity of either DVD's or message sticks, I get the following response: "Windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this file. What do you want Windows to do? Retry Cancel? What have I done or not done, and how can I correct this. BTW, I can *still* copy these same files to ordinary CD's. Many thanks, Bamboozled David.
Guest Bob I Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Re: Problem Downloading Binaries Windows XP hasn't a clue how to burn DVD's, so download to the harddrive and then burn your DVD with whatever software you use. wassup.doc wrote: > Until now I have no problem downloading binaries from Newsgroups to ordinary > CD's. What software are you using to try to write to DVD? Windows does *not* come with DVD-writing software. Guest wassup.doc Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Re: Problem Downloading Binaries Simple me! I did not realise I needed a programme for writing to *DVD's* This was only because I did not require a programme for copying to CD's. Wassup. Guest wassup.doc Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Re: Problem Downloading Binaries Thanks "Bob I" for your reply. Can you suggest a programme for burning DVD's? I did not expect the problem to be something as simple as a programme. Burning a CD required none. Yes, I have rated your post. David (Wassup). Guest Bob I Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Re: Problem Downloading Binaries You should have received writing/burning software bundled with the DVD burner. Where did you get it? How did it come to be installed in the PC? wassup.doc wrote: > Thanks "Bob I" for your reply. Can you suggest a programme for burning > DVD's?
