Guest Deeneedshelp Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 If there is anyone who could help me remedy this error message. My computer cuts to the Royal Blue Error message screen. Sometimes 2-3 different error messages appear. They all have the same ending message. I try to print the blue screen by using the "PRINT SCREEN/ SYS REQ. button but the screen won't print. The ending message say - Beginning Dump of Physical Memory Physical Memory Dump complete. There is also a Technical Information - STOP OXOOOOOO5O (OXE125000,OXOOOOOOOO,OX804FB799,OXOOOOOOO1) Please help me if you can. All my work is on my computer. I am working with MicroSoft Windows XP. I am not good with the technical stuff, but if you can tell me how to fix this problem, I will follow you advice to the letter. I cannot afford to lose all my work, projects and documents. I also get an error message that states - "Error registering the ocx C:/windows/system32/flash macron/ surflash ocx. Please email me at Feechi39@aol.com. I would appreciate your help. Thank You very much, Dee

Sorry, no free email support. Also, it is a bad idea to post your unmunged email address on Usenet (where you are posting) because it will be harvested by spammers. See this link for how to munge: http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/munad.htm As for your Stop Error, you can do the troubleshooting here and look up your 0x0000050 error here: http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm Go through the "General Troubleshooting of STOP Messages" section. No matter what, back up your data immediately! When this is all over, create and implement a backup strategy. It is possible to retrieve data from a physically viable hard drive even if the computer can't boot into Windows (and it isn't clear from your post whether you can do this or not). However, since you say you are "not good with the technical stuff" you may wish to take the machine to a local professional computer repair shop. This will not be a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place. If you can't stay booted into Windows long enough to retrieve your data, here is some general information about doing this outside of Windows - I include my entire "boilerplate" because we don't know if your hard drive is failing or not. You may have inadvertently left out crucial information from your post such as "there has been a loud clicking noise coming from my computer" and it is important that you know all the options to help you make the decision as to what to do. ***** *IMPORTANT* - If there is any question that the drive is at fault - it's making noises for instance - and the data is crucial DO NOTHING FURTHER ON THE DRIVE. Every time you spin that drive up you may be destroying data. If this is the case, send the drive to a professional data recovery company like Drive Savers (my preference) or Seagate Data Recovery. General prices run from $500USD on up. Drive Savers recovered all the data on a failed laptop drive for one of my clients and it cost $2,700. He thought it was worth the money; only you know what your data is worth. I understand that some insurance companies are now covering data recovery charges so check with yours. Drive Savers - http://www.drivesavers.com Seagate Data Recovery Services - https://www.seagatedatarecovery.com/ *IMPORTANT* - If you think the drive is physically healthy, it may be possible to retrieve the data by software methods. DO NOTHING FURTHER ON THE DRIVE. The data is still on the hard drive but if you overwrite it, it will be extremely difficult or impossible to recover it. If you use data recovery software, install it on another machine and either use it from that operating system or create a bootable cd/floppy and work with that. If you don't have the skill and/or equipment to do these procedures and the data is crucial, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop that has experience in doing data recovery. This will not be your local version of BigStoreUSA. In-shop data recovery is usually not exactly cheap (for ex., my charges are generally $150-350USD), but it normally costs less than sending the drive to a company like Drive Savers. You need to make the determination of the value of your data and decide what to do. So, here are some things to try to recover your data: 1. Pull the drive and slave it in a computer running a working install of XP. Depending on the target drive's characteristics, you may need a drive adapter; i.e., laptop-to-IDE or a SATA controller card, etc. A usb/firewire external drive enclosure works very well, too. Use the working Windows Explorer to copy the data to the rescue system's hard drive and then burn the data to cd or dvd. 2. Often XP will not boot with a slaved drive that has a damaged file system. In that case, boot the target computer with either a Bart's PE or a Linux live cd such as Knoppix and retrieve the data that way. Here is general information on using Knoppix for this: You will need a computer with two cd drives, one of which is a cd/dvd-rw OR a usb thumb drive with enough capacity to hold your data OR an external usb/firewire hard drive formatted FAT32 (not NTFS). To get Knoppix, you need a computer with a fast Internet connection and third-party burning software. Download the Knoppix .iso and create your bootable cd. Then boot with it and it will be able to see the Windows files. If you are using the usb thumb drive or the external hard drive, right-click on its icon (on the Desktop) to get its properties and uncheck the box that says "Read Only". Then click on it to open it. Note that the default mouse action in the window manager used by Knoppix (KDE) is a single click to open instead of the traditional MS Windows' double-click. Otherwise, use the K3b burning program to burn the files to cd/dvd-r's. http://www.knoppix.net http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ - Bart's PE Builder ***** Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers http://www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" Flash Macron returns some hits.. did you install something by "Macron" or "Flash Macron"? http://aumha.org/a/stop.php#0x50 The above link suggests you've been hit by a "possible Rootkit spyware infestation" though there are other possibilities listed. The hex codes you listed above should have a 0 or a 1, followed by an X, then eight more hex characters, 0-9 or a-f. The first one you listed in the parenthesis only has seven characters after the 0X. What actually is that code? In finding the cause, the actual parameter is needed. If you did install Macron software, contact them about the error, either by email, phone, or by their FAQ or other support pages. -- Joe =o)
